Wedding bit and bobs

Had fun making these two today:

Template created in MCS using the horsehoe digital punch.  Cardstock some JS brocade card that I still had in my stash.  Flowers made from Martha Stewart punch, balled and dusted with some of my cake decorating chalks, and a little green stamen added (also from cake stash).   The hanging ribbon was one that I had originally intended using on my son's engagement cake, but as it turned out they never had a party or a cake!

A shoe made from the Elegant Shoe template from Terri at  artful affirmations - she has a video too.

again JS brocade card, and flowers and ribbons as before, apart from the silk rose on front, which I found in my stash whilst looking for ribbons!  Some ribbons were stuck straight into the shoe, but the others, as with the flowers were wired together and taped before popping in the shoe.  The ribbon around the inside of the heel is some of the wedding cake ribbon.

another view - hopefully if you click on it you can see the brocade card

Wedding Card

I have struggled for past week trying to decide what I wanted to do for my son's card - ideas kept going around my head - started of thinking about doing a double gate fold, got as far as stamping images, but it wouldn't come together, then I played about with images in MCS - result wasn't too bad and am going to use the image I created for the insert.   Then I might do the retro fold and printed off the instructions to refresh my memory..... nah - still wasn't convinced.

Well at last today inspiration struck!  Decided to have a play and stamped the hydrangea stamp on to parchment!  Now this was a big venture for me as I am not good at parchment!

Even this turned out to be one of those "happy accidents". I stamped image in stazon white and put some embossing powder on it - only to realise I had grabbed the ultra thick!   Nothing ventured - nothing gained at least it could be a practise piece.

Well I was quite pleased with result, but how to put it on a card - and then more inspiration - use the cake as inspiration, and keep it simple!

Rang my daughter to ask what nestabilities she had as I only had plain rounds, and she said she had the scalloped rounds! so nipped across with the image and the backing card and was pleased with the result!  When got  home decided to put ultra thick embossing powder on the scallopped mat  and the initials I had cut out.

Scored two lines down the  card and attached matching ribbon from the cake,  some pearls and a diamante gem to represent the buckles on the cake, and of course a precious tassel , which I attached by punching hole in the ribbon with my japanese screw punch  .....

.....and here is the result:

and this will probably be the insert - created in MCS using background image from the To Have and to Hold cd:

and this is the inspiration behind the card a sneek preview of the cake I made (on the day of course it will be on a proper stand with buckles aligned and will have a cake knife with flowers on.

Cake is royal iced rich fruit cake and hydrangea blossoms are made from sugar.

Sharing some precious moments

Wanted to share these precious moments with you and hoping it is safe to put these photos on now, as I think my son and daughter in law will be too busy to see in the run up to the wedding.

How to make a card by Connie age 16 months

First of all you spend the day at your Auntie Dawn's house so you can make cards with your Nanny.

You then get Nanny to prepare the card and mat and layer the image, and you help stick the foam pads on, then you put it on the card like this:

then you pat it to make sure it has stuck:

then you admire your handiwork

then when Nanny says that is lovely you look all bashful "oh shucks - it was nothing really!"

You get Nanny to put some peel-offs on the card ('cos that is a bit difficult) and you choose some star gems to put on it, and help put them on.

You get Nanny to make an insert and you choose a peel-off image to put on the flyleaf and then Auntie Dawn helps you write your name and you put kisses on the card.

My big sister Bea (aged 4) makes quite good cards too - she made this one with die-cut decoupage that she chose when she was out shopping with Nanny, and she had fun sticking all the foam pads on, and choosing the flowers and the little heart gems, she wanted to use. Nanny put the peel-offs on for her, as that was a bit tricky as well as matting and layering the image.

Nanny made the insert and Bea wanted to use one of Nanny's little doilies, and chose a spray of flowers sticker to put on it for her card, and then she signed her card.

We hope you like our efforts for our Mummy and Daddy's wedding next week, and thank you Auntie Dawn for taking the photos. love The Bumbles (aka Connie & Bea) xxx

Some creations using MCS

All 3 printed straight on card before decoupage added where applicable.

MCS meets Forever friends - changed the background colours to create the colourway I wanted and decoupaged the teddy bride and groom

Another MCS mets Forever Friends - bit of digital punching as my great nephew not only likes football, but he is a member of the NTC - so a thought a ship's wheel would look good behind the number.  Teddy also decoupaged.

A Quickie E-Card

I hadn't realised until I signed into FB tonight that it was my old school pal's Wedding Anniversary today - not only that it was a special one - her Sapphire Anniversary!   So with much thanks to MCS Pro - I created this e-card quickly for her and posted it on her FB profile.

I also added a little verse to my posting:

Love brought you together as husband and wife
and gave each of you a best friend for life

Golden Wedding

Another first for me today - printing directly onto card with my new printer that hubby bought me for my birthday.  Really pleased that at last I have a printer that takes card.

created in MCS using one of the images from Celebrations, printed on ivory/cream cardstock

a close up of part of the insert printed on conqueror gold paper - I love these words.

veni, vidi, visa

A little play on the old latin phrase - tongue in cheek mine means I came, I saw, I spent!  (I have to confess this is not my phrase - but one my husband coined when he saw the wording on the card!)

Had fun with this one, something a tad different from my usual style.   The image was a Docrafts stamp coloured with my new Aquamarkers.  I also used my new Martha Stewart trellis punch, and my new hydrangea punch.   Used my skills and tools from making sugarflowers to shape the flowers!  Centre of the flowers are little buttons to match the ribbon down the middle of the trellis.
