Trying again!

Well it appears Carol had the answer - I had to use Google Chrome!  I do hate being dictated to (I  do not like Chrome!)  (and Chrome seems to want me to use american spellings too! sorry Google - I am English and I know how to spell!   will have to see how to stop that now! grrrr)

Anyway here are a few things I have been up to!

First two are variations on a design for two friends birthdays done with Serif  CAP2.  The silk effect background is from a Joanna Sheen CD, and the colour altered as required.

.... and decided I needed one too!

Secretly chuffed with the scarf as I am useless at knitting, and always wanted to try the cha-cha yarn; and the little owl was fun to make.  When I bought the yarn for the scarf it was a pretty random choice of colour - and blow me down a couple of days later, I saw some khaki jeggings which exactly matched in Sainsburys - well it would have been rude not to buy them!

Anniversary Wishes

 

Created this card for my son and his wife with Forever Friends cd.   The sakura sparkle pen came out of hiding too for some highlighting.

Created with Forever Friends cd, mounted on silver mirri and a few diamantes added.

Wedding Day

Created this with the Forever Friends cd.  As it is not for a "First Wedding" I wanted to keep it fairly simple, and decided that the bears were the way to go. 

Pearlised card stock as the base.  The whole topper was created from the cd , printed out and then mounted on gold mirri.  I offset the topper so that I could add some "bling" faux diamonds down the side.

First Christmas

Used my Forever Friends cd for this one for my great great nephew.  I do love this cd.  Created the image in the programme, and then added some "glitter" snow.

Christening Card

Well it was back to card making today, having had yesterday off with my daughter and family on a bit of retail therapy (not of the crafting kind) spending some vouchers I had, and also wandering around the stalls and demonstrations on the "Big Nibble" weekend in our town.  Lovely afternoon, but a tad tired last night.

It is my great, great nephew's Christening on Sunday, and it has taken me an age to come up with the card.  I won't tell you how many images and layouts I played with.  I decided most of them were too fussy, and ended up with this one which I hope has a "Less is More" feel to it.  I didn't want it too babyish as he is eight months old now.

White linen finish card stock as base card (although it looks cream in the photo), which I have trimmed with a fancy edge and silvered.  The same treatment has been given to the backing card, and the topper, which is mounted on foam tape.   I added a couple of lines of pale blue ribbon, and overwrote the silver lettering with a clear sakura sparkle pen, to make it shine, as well as adding a few highlights to the teddy image.  Finished off with a silver cross peeloff.

Anniversary Card

Gosh is it nearly a year since my son got married?  Where does the time go?

I have made this card for their 1st anniversary  later on this week.  Created with Forever Friends CD and then imported into Publisher to create a topper with a faux backing paper, and adding the wording.  Mounted onto Craftwork Cards cardstock.   Finished off with some peel-offs around the main image and the backing paper.  the backing paper and words are actually more purple in real life.

Cake & Card for a 9 year old!

The request from my eldest granddaughter was for a cake with a ten-pin with a cowboy hat on it, to match her birthday invites, and to reflect the fact that she and her friends are going ten-pin bowling and then for a meal at the local Smith and Western restaurant!   I confess the ten-pin was harder to model than I first thought it would be - still as my Dad would have said "A blind man would be pleased to see it!"   As she is also a ballet dancer I added an extra element!  It also compliments the Birthday Card I made for her.   (Shame the word "Birthday" is a bit wonky, didn't show up until I took the photo! - obviously the old eyesight isn't what it used to be - mind you it is very difficult piping on a sponge cake, as you can't rest your hand on the edge of the cake to steady it - so everything is piped very much free-hand in the air - and I had to do that twice as the pink colour is over-piped over white to raise it up!)

and this is the card I made using backing papers and a bear from Forever Friends.  The Bear and the skittles and the cowboy hat were all decoupaged.  (note:  I too the liberty of putting the cowboy hat on the bear rather than the skittle!)  I have overwritten the wording I created on the skittle in MCS with a little clear sakura glitter pen.  I have also glitted the bands on the skittles and added a little to the bear (I think if you click on the picture you can just about see it!)

Male 18th birthday

A card for a pals' grandson who is looking forward to going to the pub for his first beer!  He is also into football, pool and cars.  The car dates from his birth year!  As you can see the pool balls have his age on them.  (somewhere in my stash I am sure I have some similar bought embellishments - but can I find them? - however they would probably have been too small in relation to the rest of the items)  I also added the Forever Friends bear with the 18 Key.

The image was put together in CAP and the wording added with the new squiggly word facility.  A little glitter was added to the key, the wheels of the car, the beer and the pool balls.  Image mounted on to brown card, then gold mirri and brown cardstock.
