Wedding Anniversary Card

 

 

A stamped card this time - from my stash, coloured with a Pentel dua metallic red/gold pen and then water-coloured with some watered down Artistry ink.  Background dusted lightly with Craft Artist mica colour in blue.  Outline then drawn with same pen as used win the flower.

A bit different to my norm

Something a bit different for me - a semi grunge card.   I made a mask for the stamp, and then used a stencil for the background using mainly pink and purple Artistry Inks, with a little yellow for the centre of the "flower".   I then removed the stencil and stamped the images, and painted them using the same inks.    Finally a sentiment from the same set of stamps was added

A Nautical Theme

Experimenting with an idea for a nautical theme for a man's card.     I created a mask for the lighthouse stamp from Crafts-Too, and using the Chocolate Baroque masks and stencils applied some Artistry Inks in a blue and teal.  Removing the mask I then stamped the lighthouse.   the other stamps weren't masked, but stamped straight over the coloured squares, although a little colour was applied to the wheel, anchor and bottom of the lighthouse afterwards to create some shade.

I wanted to use the bird from the set of stamps too, but in hindsight I probably shouldn't have gone with that idea!  

Tulips from Amsterdam

A variation on an earlier card I did, but this time using the windmill stamp, and masks.   This time I in addition to brushing the colour on across the strip, I added some water colour elements using the Artistry inks - in fact the mound that the windmill is sitting on is actually green - although it doesn't look like it in the photo

Tulip Birthday Card

 

A simple, but effective technique I saw demonstrated by Barbara Gray, using the tulip stamps from the Dutch collection.

The area was masked off, and the tulips stamped and then masked, and then blue Artistry Ink applied between the strips of masking tape.   Rather than draw lines at each edge of the blue, I decided to use some fine peel-offs from my stash.   A sentiment was then added.

Feathers - A "Twofer" Part 2

 Having sprayed yesterday's card, I ended up with a beautiful glistening teal feather from the Izink Shiny Spray,  so as I had a card to do for a pal who loves feathers I decided to use it on her card.  

I masked off the central area of the card and distressed the edges with teal Artistry Ink, and then added the sentiment in the same colour.  I then sprayed the back of the feather with a glue spray and attached it to the card.     The feather is really beautiful with the spray on it.   No doubt the recipient being a crafter will detach the feather and use it again! 

So there you have it two cards from one feather!

Smile!

 I was pretty pleased with how this one turned out (even if my writing is rubbish! - the sparkle gel pen I was using didn't help either - should have done it with a micron pen,  Didn't dare go over it as with my dodgy eyes I would have completely mucked it up! - lol!)

I used mask for the word Smile, and then stamped the heart over it in black and clear embossed it.   I then masked the heart and brushed some artistry ink around it.  I then outlined the Smile with a blue sparkle gel pen, and adding a bit of water to the ink pad colour I had used, I highlighted a couple of sections with the same blue.

The Clarity heart stamp comes with a set of masks with about 8 different words - love, smile, joy, laugh etc.

Another Jumper Card

 

Another man's card using the jumper stamps again.   The jumper was actually more red than the picture shows.   I must confess that I wasn't feeling that bright the day I made this, as was the day after my vaccination and I was feeling very tired.   It was late in the day, as I had fallen asleep for 3 hours in the afternoon, but knew I had to get the card in the post to my nephew, and I really hadn't the energy to start again - thus it wasn't perfect!   However, it is the thought that counts.

The jumper stamp was still on my desk from Christmas Eve, so as I had some more cards to do, I have used it more than once recently.     This is the first variation.

Christmas Jumper Birthday Card

Clarity Stamp were selling this jumper stamp in aid of a children's charity.    I used it for a friend's birthday card for his birthday on Christmas Eve.

The jumper was created using Artistry ink brushed on to the image, and then the decoration done with Nuvo blue ink pad.  The edge of the card had double-sided tape added and then gilding flakes rubbed into it.

Variations on a Theme Birthday Cards

Two cards with a variation on a theme.   I don't often make long narrow cards, so that was a change this time too.  The first one was created with a set of stencils, and the second one was stamped first and then stencilled.

The stencils are layering stencils - so the main layer of flowers was dusted with pink/red shade of Artistry ink.  The second layer was done with yellow, and finally the last layer was the green leaves.   I then added a sentiment, and a little glue on the centre of the flowers and some glitter.

The stamps and stencils are made by PinkFresh.    There is also a matching die - so there is a third and fourth option for a design, with or without the stamp.   I have yet to try this option.

I do apologise for the photos - had difficulty taking a photograph with a decent background - no doubt I should have scanned them but hopefully you can see the two options ok.   I must admit I rather like the first one without the stamped outline - much more delicate.   Perhaps next time I will choose a lighter coloured ink with the stamp.  It's all a matter of experimenting!

Finally in this year's selection of cards - a couple of stamps I played with when deciding what theme I was going with.   I wasn't that convinced - so they didn't get selected for mass production.

 I made a few of these cards to.  Once again a Clarity Stamp.  In confess I wasn't so happy with the finished result - so only made a few.

 This stamp was a chance purchase - and I think possibly my favourite this year.   We all need a hug this year don't we.    

Extremely simple, stamped image, then masked and blue artistry ink brushed over.  A few bits of "snow" with a white posca pen, and glittered added before the pen dried.

  have kept the cards fairly simple this year with a variation on a theme, using the Clarity Pergamano Poppet stamps.   Some were stamped in black and some  stamped in gold or silver.  Water-coloured with artistry inks, then a little glue and glitter added.   I added a variety of sentiments.  

Another Leafy Card

 Another card made with a different That's Crafty stencil and mask.    Coloured exactly as the one yesterday.

Although I have scanned it - the colours are actually a bit more vibrant.   I shall be glad when I have a working camera again!

Leafy Card

Once again apologies for being AWOL.   My crafting mojo evaded me for a while, although I have started the Christmas cards, and I have also been trying to get the garden ready for winter!  I have also had problem with my camera - it is being very temperamental!  (a new one is on the Christmas wish list!)  I have had to scan this card, and it looks much better in real life.

Fitting in with the autumn theme, I have made a couple of cards with a recent purchase of a leaf stencil from That's Crafty.    These are two part stencils with an outer and inner mask.

This is quite a new technique for me, so it was a complete experiment.   The main stencil was brushed with various orange and red Artistry inks, and then the mask was put in place and brushed with various shades of green Artistry inks.   I felt that the right hand sand was a bit "stark" to I took another stencil from the set I bought with smaller leaves, and added a little detail on the right-hand side.  I then removed the outer stencil and carefully added blue around the edge of the mask.
