Golden Wedding Easel Card

This was a request from a friend.  Used my favourite dies, and some ribbon, flowers and gems from my stash and yes a tassel!

It is so long since I made an easel card, that I made a bit of faux  pas when I first put it together, as I folded the support the wrong way.  Fortunately I managed to salavage it (I knew something wasn't quite right but couldn't work out what it was).  Originally the card came further forward, and the name was in the middle of the ribbon.  Having realised my error, I couldn't move the ribbon (and I didn't have any more of that ribbon so couldn't remake the base), but fortunately I managed to move the names and add a few extra gems - phew!  Why is it that when you have actually stuck the card on the easel you realise what you did wrong!  Probably should have left it as it was and created a new fold!

For info the card topper is actually made like a normal card with an insert made from gold conqueror paper.

The flowers were quite large, so made a box to take the card

If Friends were flowers

As you all probably by now know I am a little hooked on the Justinklined The Next Big Thing, and this is another image from it, coloured with promarkers.  However, I have also used an image from Joanna Sheen's If Flowers Could Talk, which is features painting by Jane Netley Mayhew and Poetry by Patience Strong.  I didn't use the poem that was with this image, but used the facility to write my own words.

As usual kept the card fairly simple just matting the images on toning card.  I also added a strip from a Memory Box die in the same card as the basic card.

Chuffing Good Birthday

It's my son-in-law's Birthday today and this is the card I made for him.  He is a model train enthusiast.  Image is from Justinklined The Next Big Thing, coloured with promarkers.   Computer generated sentiment and one of my new Memory Box dies.

christening card and more cakes!

Christening Card

This is the card I made for my youngest granddaughter's Christening.  Pearlised cardstock with an image coloured with promarkers from Justinklined - The Next Big Thing.    I kept with the colour scheme of the Christening Cake, and used some of the leftover lace and ribbon from the cake.   As you will see I also managed to incorporate the little beaded cross that I created the other day.  I was so pleased to discover the lovely little gold brad in my stash.  (It must have been from a goody bag!)

I also had to make a sponge cake in a hurry.  My daughter in law was going to buy a ready iced plain one from M&S for me to put some flowers on, but discovered that they don't stock them on the shelves now - you have to order them and they take a week!

I also made a few cupcakes, which like the sponge cake are dairy free.  You will also see that I used those broken petals from when I made the roses for the Royal-iced Cake!   (Waste not, want not!)

Wedding Card

My D-i-l's mother is remarrying tomorrow and this is the card I helped my 5yr old and 3yr old granddaughters create for her.  The sentiments are actually gold on white card, although they look blue in the photo.

The pearlescent cardstock was some I found in my stash - think I bought it Ally Pally a couple of years ago.  All the embellishments and mats were cut from the same cardstock, and the ribbon came from a recent goodbag.  The die cuts are from various Memory Box dies.

I tackled the fiddle bit of sticking on the die cuts, and they did the rest.  (Well obviously I did the computer generated sentiments).

Card for Jo.

Simple Card using Memory Box dies.

Long time no post - mainly because my computer got sick and has gone to the puter doc - aka my son hopefully to fix.  Also for the past few days I have been quite busy, and although it has chucked it down have had a good time, as have had my cyber daughter Sassie staying with me for a week - so insanity has ruled for most of the week!  We also had my granddaughter Sunday night/Monday all day so my plastic got a tad more on it than planned with her in tow!   However, she rarely gets to go shopping with me - let alone with her Auntie Sassie to lead her astray!   LOL!

Because of the weather we had to resort to craft shopping and general retail therapy for some of the days - such hardship!

We did get to play with a few bits during the week - and I will share those over the next few days.  In the meantime, I did get a few mins to myself to make a couple of cards, and this one was a very quick one for a mutual craft pal.  Just kept it simple using my new Memory Box dies!   In fact it didn't even have an insert (very bad for me) - as I don't have all my favourite craft bits on this computer.  In fact as I don't have my usual photo prog on this laptop - Sass had to show me how to upload photos on it!  Thankfully this means that I can add a few bits to the blog.

Card for a Golfer

Another image from The Next Big Thing - coloured with promarkers.  Matted on to two shades of green papermania pearlescent card.  Had to use one of my memory Box dies again too.  Card finished off with some stick-on balloons and a couple of peel-offs from my stash.  Do love this cd of digital images - so versatile.

OAPs Rule - OK!

It is my Brother-in-Law's Birthday today and this is the card I have made for him (albeit because I hadn't got my act together it will be a bit late arriving!)

The image is from Just Inklined the Next Big Thing - and he can blame his brother for choosing the image!  As B-i-l is joining the OAP Club today, just couldnt' resist using the image!  Image is matted on papermania pearlescent card, and some glitter card.  Have also used the glitter card for the Memory Box die shapes.  Gosh I love these new dies - got to buy some more!  The main card stock is pearlescent card.  It is also huge as it is an A4 size card!

and here is a close up of the main image, which was coloured with promarkers.  There is a subtle little personalisation on the scooter, as B-i-l works the early shift picking/packing customer orders for a certain Supermarket.  Hopefully it will make him laugh!  As they live on the south coast, can just imagine him at some point in his bright shirt and shorts zooming along the seafront with his shopping! he he!
