I have struggled for past week trying to decide what I wanted to do for my son's card - ideas kept going around my head - started of thinking about doing a double gate fold, got as far as stamping images, but it wouldn't come together, then I played about with images in MCS - result wasn't too bad and am going to use the image I created for the insert. Then I might do the retro fold and printed off the instructions to refresh my memory..... nah - still wasn't convinced.
Well at last today inspiration struck! Decided to have a play and stamped the hydrangea stamp on to parchment! Now this was a big venture for me as I am not good at parchment!
Well I was quite pleased with result, but how to put it on a card - and then more inspiration - use the cake as inspiration, and keep it simple!
Rang my daughter to ask what nestabilities she had as I only had plain rounds, and she said she had the scalloped rounds! so nipped across with the image and the backing card and was pleased with the result! When got home decided to put ultra thick embossing powder on the scallopped mat and the initials I had cut out.
.....and here is the result:
and this will probably be the insert - created in MCS using background image from the To Have and to Hold cd:
and this is the inspiration behind the card a sneek preview of the cake I made (on the day of course it will be on a proper stand with buckles aligned and will have a cake knife with flowers on.
Cake is royal iced rich fruit cake and hydrangea blossoms are made from sugar.
