Feathers - A "Twofer" Part 2

Having sprayed yesterday's card, I ended up with a beautiful glistening teal feather from the Izink Shiny Spray,  so as I had a card to do for a pal who loves feathers I decided to use it on her card.

I masked off the central area of the card and distressed the edges with teal Artistry Ink, and then added the sentiment in the same colour.  I then sprayed the back of the feather with a glue spray and attached it to the card.     The feather is really beautiful with the spray on it.   No doubt the recipient being a crafter will detach the feather and use it again!

So there you have it two cards from one feather!

Feathers - A "Twofer" part 1

As the title says this is a two for one card - the next part will be tomorrow.   I laid a feather on the crd and then sprayed the card with Izink Shiny spray in a sort of teal colour.  Love these sprays they really glisten.

I then add some borders and words from Hobby Art "Sharon's Birthday Vase stamp set with black Versafine ink.

New Home Card

A New Home card using Clarity Stamp Town Houses stamp, which has been "watercoloured" with Artistry Inks.

You  can see how dodgy my central vision is these days as the ...  as I thought I was doing it in a straight line - lol!

Another Heart Card

The photo doesn't do this justice - but that's the trouble with taking photos in the winter.   I was really pleased with the result.   It's not a valentines card, but in fact a card for a granddaughter who happens to have a birthday on that day.

The heat is a Clarity Stamp and comes with the word Love and matching masks.    The surround designs were made from a stencil in my stash (and confess I can't remember whose it was).

I started by stamping the word, and masked that off and stamped the heart.   I then coloured the letters using the same Artistry teal blue ink, which I water-coloured on.   I then applied glycerine to the letters with a paintbrush and embossed them with Wow clear embossing powder.   I repeated this progress, and ended up doing triple embossing to make the letters more raised.   I also did a little shading on the heart with a grey Polychromo pencil.

An experiment with Craft Card

Having been watch the SHAC Shack with Barbara Gray and her using craft card with the lower set of stamps, I decided to have a play for this card for a pal.    The images were created with some of the Funky houses stamps and the floral alphabet, from Clarity stamp.    The images were coloured using white Posca pens and Pergaliner pencils.   The special "thin" craft card was also purchased from Clarity Stamps.

More String Art

I suddenly realised I hadn't shared these photos of some other string art that I did from Ropenroll.  They really are great fun to do.

There were three sizes of this shape and I alternated the start colours.

Here are the three sizes on the wall of one of my bedrooms.

I have bought other kits for members of the family.   A feather one for one of my granddaughters, and an owl one for my daughter.  I must check to see if they have done them yet and get some photos.  I have also got another couple of projects in the pipeline - a rolling beaded one - which I confess I am struggling with at the moment as the old eyes are playing up.   I have also got a 3D hexagonal one to start, and some jewellery ones on order.  (These might get give as presents for the recipient to make  - on the other hand, I love doing them so much, they might get the completed items! - lol!)

I was always in awe of the pin and string art that my Dad did way back.  Perhaps one day I might even try that myself,   In the meantime this is the easy way out, but I will try and get more adventurous and try different patterns.   My daughter would probably very good at this as she is a mathematician!

Smile!

I was pretty pleased with how this one turned out (even if my writing is rubbish! - the sparkle gel pen I was using didn't help either - should have done it with a micron pen,  Didn't dare go over it as with my dodgy eyes I would have completely mucked it up! - lol!)

I used mask for the word Smile, and then stamped the heart over it in black and clear embossed it.   I then masked the heart and brushed some artistry ink around it.  I then outlined the Smile with a blue sparkle gel pen, and adding a bit of water to the ink pad colour I had used, I highlighted a couple of sections with the same blue.

The Clarity heart stamp comes with a set of masks with about 8 different words - love, smile, joy, laugh etc.

Babushka Doll Plaque

Yes, I actually picked up a paintbrush this week.    Love the doll plaques from Madhatters Laser Cut Designs.   I have a few more to paint yet.

The plaque background was done with black paint and Pebeo blue/black to create a wood effect.   The embellishments were painted with acrylic paint and Posca pens.

Well that's me caught up with the blog a bit - Here's hoping I can do some more crafting in the not too distant future.   Stay safe.
